This is a high strength calcium formulation with vitamin D, both nutrients work synergistically to promote healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin D plays a central role in the regulation of calcium absorption and metabolism. Vitamin D can be produced in the skin from the energy of the ultraviolet rays of the sun, it is also obtained from the diet however it is not very abundant in the food chain. The elderly, those who receive little sunlight, vegetarians and vegans, and those with digestive, liver and kidney problems may have an increased requirement for vitamin D. |
